PRE-SCHOOL PRACTITIONER
Part-time opportunities available
Minimum Qualification
Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce, NVQ level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development, Cache level 3 certificate in Pre-School Practice, or equivalent DfE approved Level 3 course.
Enhanced DBS required prior to employment.
Practitioner required to:-
Work as part of a team providing a stimulating and varied programme of play and ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.
In order to achieve this the practitioner will:-
Help prepare and fully set out equipment before children arrive and tidy it up after the children leave.
Help plan, provide and take part in all the group's activities.
Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safe keeping of the children.
Attend staff meetings and help to prepare, and implement, a curriculum for the group.
Take part in special events, outings and visits.
Encourage parental involvement.
Attend relevant meetings and courses as directed by the manager or committee.
Advise the manager of any matters requiring attention (i.e concerns about a child in line with the safeguarding policy)
Advise the manager of any equipment needing repair or replacement.
Keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learned as part of the job. It should be noted that this includes photographs or comments about any pre-school or nursery child on social networking sites. Any such instance will involve instant dismissal.
Assist with regular observations of children and activities.
Pay especially close attention to children in his/her keyworker group, conducting regular observations, building up developmental records and working in close partnership with the children's parents.
Implement the group's policies, especially those on equal opportunities.
Assist with personal care of the children, e.g changing nappies.
At all times act in line with the setting policies and procedures.
You will also be required to cover After School Club at least twice per week.
The suitable applicant will need to provide prior to appointment:-
Two written references, two pieces of identification and original copies of necessary qualifications.
Level of Pay:- Level 3/4 practitioner - £11.44 - £13.44 OR Level 5/6/QTS practitioner - £13.44 - £15.00 – Dependent on experience
Start date:- January 2025 - depending on current commitments.
